Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Community Therapy Team in Tower Hamlets. The role involves providing rehabilitation to patients in their own homes, covering a broad range of clinical areas including orthopaedics, neurology, respiratory, and care of the elderly. You will manage complex cases independently, provide comprehensive therapy assessments, and contribute to the development of junior staff and students. Essential criteria

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent post graduate courses/training relevant to clinical specialty.

  • Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Involvement in a relevant Physiotherapy special clinical interest
  • Clinical experience in a broad range of specialties relevant to the post on an inpatient and / or community basis
  • Contributing to professional development and clinical education of more junior staff, students and assistants
  • Experience of working in rehabilitation, social services and community based work
  • Working knowledge of statutory and voluntary community services and agencies (ie intermediate care, day hospital)
  • Experience in ICT
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and its implications for physiotherapy and client care
  • Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
  • Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes in line with local and national standards and policies
  • Ability to assess and act against risks to self, clients as a consequence of exposure to clients and environments which may be highly distressing, antagonistic, open to aggression and/or unpleasant
  • Ability to assess for/review medical devices & other rehabilitative equipment for patient/clients, carers and others. This includes safe handling, fitting and demonstration
  • Ability to work flexibly in the community

Band 6 Experienced Physiotherapist for Tower Hamlets, Community Therapy Team (CTT)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our Community Health Services at East London NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist with a broad clinical experience across: orthopaedics, neurology, respiratory as well as care of the elderly and enjoy the challenges of providing rehabilitation to people in their own homes.

The Community Therapy Team covers a range of healthcare needs including rehabilitation at home, palliative care, falls prevention, admission avoidance, management of long-term conditions and support towards self-management. Experience in all these areas is desirable.

You will be supported by experienced Band 7 Physiotherapists, and work alongside a dedicated team of other Band 6 & 7 Physiotherapists, as well as Occupational therapists in the team. In your role you will be responsible for rehab support workers and students. This will offer you the opportunity to develop your supervisory and managerial skills.
