Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Midwife to join the Women's & Children's Education Team. The role involves leading and implementing education, training, and development strategies for Maternity areas. You will support clinical staff through formal training and clinical work, participate in development programmes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The position requires an experienced midwife with a focus on education and staff development.

  • Registered Midwife
  • Recognised NMC Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent
  • First Degree

  • Suitable Post-Registration clinical experience to include relevant speciality
  • Education and Practice experience
  • Knowledge of nurse / midwife AHP education and clinical practice

Job summary

Exciting Opportunity Available Band 7 Education & Practice Development Midwife!

There is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to join the Women's & Children's Education Team.

The role involves leading and implementing education, training and development strategies for Maternity areas.

You will participate in Midwifery development/ mandatory programmes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Use your specialist skills to support clinical staff both working clinically and by more formal training. You will be involved in new educational initiatives, professional & clinical development and managing projects.

You will be an experienced Band 6/7 Midwife with extensive experience in all maternity areas. You will be clinically competent, a student assessor and with evidence of post registration development.

The successful candidate would need to be able to demonstrate a confirmed interest in and experience of initiatives in education and staff development, good IT skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team of educators.

Main duties of the job

Support the Education and Practice Development Lead, in implementing education, training and practice development strategies.

You will support the concept of continuing professional development through the delivery of relevant programmes of education and training
