Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Pre-Operative Assessment Practitioner to join the Pre-Op Team at Liverpool Women's department. The role involves autonomous practice in assessing and referring patients, implementing care, and providing specialist advice. The practitioner will also contribute to developing clinical pathways and service improvement initiatives. Applicants willing to undertake a Clinical Examination course are encouraged to apply.

- Specialist knowledge across range of procedures, underpinned by theory, for example ECG recording and interpretation, recognition of abnormal test results and appropriate intervention.

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Pre-Op Team within Liverpool Women's department. We are currently recruiting for a Pre-Op Assessment Practitioner:
- 1 Part Time (28 hours per week)
The role of pre operative assessment practitioner is to be accountable for their own practice including the assessment and referral of patients, working autonomously within the pre-operative assessment clinic. Implementing care, providing specialist advice and clinical practice and drawing up clinical management plans whilst mindful of pathways, guidelines and targets.
Supporting and contributing to development of clinical pathways, service improvement and re design initiatives within the area.
An essential criteria of this role is a Clinical Examination and Diagnostic course; however, we are also keen to receive applications from practitioners who are looking to develop in to this role and who are willing to undertake a 3-4 month Clinical Examination course (Annex 21 provisions would apply to those in a developing role).
Main duties of the job
Assess patients, plan and implement care providing specialist advice and maintaining appropriate records. Carry out specialist nursing procedures, i.e. clinical examination, recording and interpreting ECG's. Act as a resource person to others, providing advice and support to the MD
