Role summary
This role is for a Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary Manager at Colchester Hospital, contributing to high-quality clinical pharmacy services. You will manage the Outpatient Dispensary, supervise staff, and ensure a robust pharmacy service for Trust outpatients and virtual clinics. Key responsibilities
- Assist the department in providing a comprehensive and efficient pharmacy service.
- Manage the Pharmacy Outpatient Dispensary at Colchester site and act as lead for the department.
- Liaise closely with the Chief Pharmacy Technician and the Inpatient Dispensary Manager.
- Supervise all grades of staff working in the dispensaries.
- Assume responsibility for day-to-day organization of all three dispensaries within Colchester Hospital in the absence of the Inpatient Dispensary Manager.
Essential criteria
- Significant post qualification experience as a hospital or community pharmacy technician (band 5)
- Experience of supervising other staff
- Experience of managing service delivery
- GPhC Registered
- BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Regional Dispensary Accredited Checking Technician
- Computer Literacy of standard databases
- Understanding of pharmacy organisational/structure (local/national)
- Good Pharmaceutical knowledge
- Knowledge of Pharmacy IT systems
Desirable criteria
- Project Management Skills
- Experience of Stock Control
- POD/SAM experience
- NVQ qualification in supervisory management or equivalent
- Patient consultation accreditation
- Certificate in Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians (CMMPT)
- Medicine reconciliation course
- Clinical Supervisor
