Role summary
This role is for a Specialist Cardiac Radiographer in the Cath Labs at Barts Heart and Thorax Centre. You will work within a highly skilled team, covering complex coronary intervention, structural heart intervention, electrophysiology, pacing, and endovascular cases. The position involves participating in 24-hour Heart Attack and Arrhythmia services and contributing to life-saving diagnoses and treatments. The department offers excellent training, mentoring, and support for professional development.
Essential criteria
- BSc or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
- HCPC State Registration
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate specialist training.
- Demonstrable evidence of expert Cardiac Cath Lab radiographic experience.
- Experience of working with junior staff and students.
- Minimum of two years' practical Cardiac Cath Lab Radiography experience post qualification
- Experience in perusing innovation and role development in Cardiac radiography.
- Experience in more than one hospital.
- Evidence of advanced knowledge in Cardiac Radiographic Imaging/ procedure.
- Portfolio of evidence of advanced professional development/training and education for Cardiac Radiography.
- Evidence that knowledge of Cardiac imaging techniques is up to date.
- Evidence of the ability to critically analyse Cardiac radiography practice and role development/training potential.
- Post graduate specialist training.
- Excellent written communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge in a range of Cardiac Cath Lab Imaging techniques and innovations.
- Demonstrate awareness of responsibility to and advocacy for patients.

- Requirement to work full time (37.5hrs), 4 x 9.5hr shifts, with 1 rota'd day off per week. (In line with AfC terms, when covering AMI or EP on call this day off will be scheduled immediately following the on call)
- Requirement to work some late duties, participate in the out of hours on call rota and weekend waiting list initiatives as required. (Must have suitable provision in place to accommodate required 1 hr response time to site for on call service)

Specialist Cardiac Radiographer -Cath Labs - Band 6 Bart's Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Cardiac Cath Labs trained Radiographer who is looking for the opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Radiographers within the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe.The Cardiac Imaging department boasts a wealth of state-of-the-art equipment, with ten Cardiac Catheter Labs and endovascular theatre, three dedicated Cardiac MRI scanners, and a dedicated photon counting Cardiac CT scanner, networking and expanding our services across the Trust.
