Role summary
The RTT Tracker will proactively monitor patient waiting times against national and local Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways and targets. This role involves tracking patient journeys, identifying potential breaches, and raising alerts to senior team members. The post holder will maintain robust data collection systems, ensuring accurate entry onto Careflow PAS, and liaise with services to meet 18-week targets. They will also participate in weekly meetings and assist with implementing changes in working practices.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor patient journey against the 18-week Referral to Treatment target.
- Maintain robust data collection systems and enter information onto Careflow PAS.
- Liaise with services across the Trust regarding patient appointments to ensure 18-week targets are met.
- Highlight potential breaches to targets and identify appointments to be brought forward.
- Record any amendments to the patient journey on Careflow PAS.
- Provide cover for colleagues on annual leave and sickness absence.
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 or 2 A levels or equivalent experience
- Experience/Skills
- Strong ability to analyse data, interpret complex rule sets, and apply strict attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle queries and collaborate with clinical governance teams
- Ability to prioritize a heavy, repetitive workload and to meet tight internal and external deadlines
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience using NHS Patient Administration Systems (PAS) and a background in RTT or medical administration are highly preferred.
