Role summary
This role is for a skilled Psychotherapist or Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the relational therapy team at Newham Talking Therapies. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of online video and face-to-face clients, with flexibility in working hours. The position offers opportunities for professional development, including specialized training in relational-based modalities. It's a chance to contribute to mental health services in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Bring finely honed assessment and therapy skills tailored for a Talking Therapies service.
- Manage a caseload of online video clients and face-to-face clients.
- Attend clinics one day a week.
- Commit to working a minimum of one evening per week.
- Engage in specialized training in a relational-based NICE recommended modality (e.g., DIT or IPT) subject to funding.
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with a wide range of Psychological problems in Primary Care/ IAPT settings
- Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets
- Ability to manage own caseload and time
- Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology (HCPC registered)
- Or Psychological therapist accredited with HCPC or UKPC
- Full range of skills and competencies as laid out in the competence framework
- Computer literate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Has received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
- Understanding of issues surrounding clinical risk
- Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
- Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety disorders and depression and how these problems may present in Primary Care
