Role summary
This role is for a Rotational Clinical/Specialist Pharmacist at Hinchingbrooke & Peterborough Hospitals. You will join a rotational team on a band 6 and band 7 pathway, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver clinical and core pharmacy services. The trust offers a progression programme from Band 6 to Band 7 through a structured competency framework. Essential criteria
- Pharmacy degree from recognised university
- Registration (or eligible for registration) with General Pharmaceutical Council with registration maintained during entire period of employment
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent (for Band 7)
Desirable criteria
- Non-Medical Precribing qualification (for band 7)
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
- Demonstrable evidence of competence in post-registration clinical pharmacy practice e.g. clinical ward activity (for band 7)
- Proven experience in audit work - data collection and presentation (for band 7)
- Demonstrate understanding of the principals of medicines optimisation (for band 7)
- Experience of clinical pharmacy services in a range of specialties/settings (for band 7)
- Demonstrate understanding of the principals of medicines optimisation
- Experience of ward and clinical pharmacy services in a range of specialties/settings
- Demonstrate team work (inter/intra-departmental)
- Demonstrable evidence of competence in chemotherapy / parenteral nutrition, homecare or equivalent community experience (for band 7)
- Experience in mentoring/supervising (for band 7)
- Experience in delivering education and training (for band 7)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Knowledge of Clinical audit / Drug Use Review projects

Are you looking for the next step in your pharmacy career? We have an opportunity to join our rotational pharmacist team on our band 6 and band 7 pathway. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team in the hospital where you will be involved in the delivery of a variety of clinical and core services provided by the pharmacy department.
The pharmacy department at North West Anglia Foundation Trust are keen to create an environment in which we are able to nurture and grow our own talent. With this objective in mind we have developed a progression programme which supports the progression of our Rotational band 6 pharmacists into band 7 posts. This is implemented through a structured competency programme which band 6 pharmacists can enrol on enabling their progression to Rotational band 7 without the need for additional recruitment process, if the requirements of the programme are met.
