Key responsibilities
- Assist with patient's study visits and clinical trial procedures.
- Perform clinical tasks such as venepuncture, vital signs, collection, processing, and shipping of biological specimens.
- Collect patient data from medical notes.
- Complete case report forms (CRF's) and input data.
- Provide general administrative support.
- Recruit patients and arrange transport.
Essential criteria
- NVQ3 in relevant subject or equivalent
- A typing qualification
- Keyboard/Word Processing
- Spreadsheets/databases
- Medical Terminology
- Good communication skills - written and verbal
- Attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise own work load
- Ability to use initiative
- Ability to use tact and a sensitive approach to patients and relatives
Desirable criteria

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive support to the Researchers and the research teams.
The Clerical / Research Assistant will be expected to perform a variety of clinical and clerical research duties within a research environment. They will assist with patient's study visits and clinical trial procedures. This will include clinical tasks such as venepuncture, vital signs, collection, processing (including centrifugation, freezing, handling of dry ice) and shipping of biological specimens according to protocol requirements. The clerical duties will involve collection of patient data from medical notes, completion of case report forms (CRF's), data inputting and providing general admin support.
