Role summary
This role is for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the County Early Intervention Speech and Language Therapy Team, focusing on pre-school children with targeted Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The therapist will work in various community settings, providing assessments, interventions, and support to children and families. The position involves collaborating with Family Hubs and other professionals to deliver early support and prevent escalation of SLCN.

- Recognised SLT Degree/diploma
- HCPC Registered
- NQT competencies completed

- A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
- Training
- Portfolio of relevant post qualification CPD
- Working experience of assessing and managing caseloads within clinical area
- Experience of delivering packages of care for pre-school children with SLCN
- Experience of enabling different audiences to understand issues around communication
- Experience of supporting students and other staff
- Experience of working with children with SLCN in a range of community settings
- Experience of coaching parents with regard to communication strategies
- Experience of effective multidisciplinary/agency working
- Experience of delivering group interventions
- Experience of delivering a variety of approaches to SLT service delivery
- Experience in developing evaluation / audit tools and resources as part of SLT team
- Experience of delivering training to parents/professionals
- knowledge of SLT delivery including the use of different approaches and multi-disciplinary working, across different contexts and environments.
- Knowledge of the evidence base relating to early intervention and outcomes
- Knowledge of different assessments and interventions to working with children's speech and language
- Knowledge of the White Paper and it's implications for future SLT delivery for children with targeted needss
- Demonstrates effective team working within a range of teams
- Autonomous and able to work without direct supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Job summary
We are seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work within our County Early Intervention Speech and Language Therapy Team.
The Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service provides support to children with a range of communication and eating and drinking needs across Nottingham City and County.
Main duties of the job
We have an opportunity for a full time/part time/ job share Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist who has a keen interest in specialising in working with pre-school children with targeted Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) in community settings. It is open to experienced Band 5's or existing Band 6's.
The post involves supporting children in a variety of locations including homes, clinics, nurseries, and community venues, across Nottinghamshire.
Our Early intervention Team work closely with our Family Hubs to provide early support for childrens' SLCN to prevent it escalating to needing specialist support.
You will be providing drop-in's, screening groups and supporting our well-established language lead network for local early years practitioners as part of a varied clinical role.
We are a large department relative to other departments across the country. This means that there are frequent opportunities to develop skills, and we have therapists who are able to specialise in clinical areas and share their knowledge/s
