Role summary
This is a fully funded 24-month BSc (Hons) Midwifery Shortened Programme at London South Bank University, leading to a qualification and a Band 5 salary. The program aims to develop competent, caring, and research-based midwives capable of delivering effective woman-centred care. Time will be split between university study and practical experience at the Royal London Hospital. Applicants must be registered Adult Nurses with a Bachelor's degree and post-registration experience in the UK.
Essential criteria
- A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2:2: with a minimum qualification of Diploma in Higher Education with evidence of study at Level 6
- For applicants whom English is not their first language, they must achieve a minimum score of 7.0 overall or equivalent, with not less than 7.0 in the listening, speaking and reading sections and not less than 6.5 in the writing section for the International English Language Test Score (IELTS) at the time of application OR for the Occupational English Test (OET), they must achieve a minimum grade of B overall or equivalent, with not less than a B in listening, reading and speaking and a C+ in writing.

- A registered Adult nurse (level 1) with current registration with the NMC and 6- months post registration experience in a adult nursing setting in the UK.
- Experience within a maternity setting
- Up-to-date knowledge of professional Midwifery issues. .
- Able to prioritise care appropriately
- Understanding of inter-agency working i.e. Child Protection and Domestic Violence
- Understanding of the principles of EDI within maternity
- Has knowledge of Trust's Policies and Procedures
- Understanding of governance and evidence-based practice.

Job summary
The 24 Month BSc (Hons) Midwifery Shortened Programme at the London South Bank University aims to produce competent, caring, research and evidence-based midwives, capable of delivering effective woman-centred care for mothers and their families. This full-time programme commences September 2065.
During the 24 Month course, time will be split between the London South Bank University (LSBU) and the Royal London Hospital.
