Role summary
This role is for a Practice Educator Sonographer specializing in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Ultrasound. The successful candidate will independently perform and report a wide range of maternity and gynaecology scans, while also training and mentoring new sonographers. The position involves developing training materials, coordinating learning experiences, and ensuring high clinical standards within a supportive team environment. Flexible working options are available for this full-time or part-time contract.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a high quality, comprehensive and efficient Ultrasound service to patients and referring clinicians.
- Facilitate and maintain an effective learning environment, overseeing and participating in the teaching, training and mentoring of Ultrasound staff.
- Develop training materials and programmes for all Ultrasound staff, including qualified and student sonographers.
- Undertake regular training needs analyses with sonographers to identify opportunities for career and service development.
- Independently undertake general ultrasound sessions, providing comprehensive and accurate computerised reports on all examinations.
- Coordinate and deliver the learning experience of student sonographers undertaking the Post graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound.
Essential criteria
- CASE accredited UK qualification in obs & Gynae ultrasound
- minimum 2 years experience in NHS Trust performing OBS & Gynae scans
