Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated, and professional Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Male Respiratory ward at Milton Keynes University Hospital. You will provide effective leadership, maintain high standards of nursing care, and supervise junior staff. The role involves developing your management style alongside the Ward Manager and ensuring you have the skills to care for level 2 patients. Good communication, organisational skills, and a teaching/mentorship course are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide effective, professional and managerial leadership to staff.
  • Provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care.
  • Supervise and develop the knowledge and skills of junior staff.
  • Initiate/facilitate developments in nursing practice in partnership with the ward manager.
  • Be the ward representative when the ward manager is unavailable.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, incorporating the standards and philosophy of the ward.

  • Mentorship and Support Course or equivalent

An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Male Respiratory ward. We are seeking to recruit dynamic, motivated and professional Junior Sister/Charge Nurse.

You must been keen to learn and will be supported to take part in the development process and ensure you have the skills and competencies to look after our most unwell level 2 patients.

You will also be supported to develop your own management style, working alongside the Ward Manager.

The successful candidate must have good communication and organisational skills. A previous teaching/mentorship course. A background in Respiratory medicine is desirable but not essential.
