Role summary
This Advanced Psychological Practitioner role is within Mersey Care's Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT). The post-holder will provide psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for patients in crisis, supporting MHUC intervention pathways. Essential criteria
- Evidence of post registration study.
- Appropriate professional qualification at degree level, by RMN AHP Social Worker
- Have or be working towards a specific postgraduate level (certificate/master's level) qualification in a psychological therapy
- Significant demonstrable post registration experience within mental health services
Desirable criteria
- Masters level education in an area of psychological practice and/or a qualification in a specific psychotherapy.
- Knowledge / Experience
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including community, primary care and in patient settings.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Experience of the application of psychological interventions in different cultural contexts
- Proven experience of leadership and management of clinical care within the community setting.
- Training and experience of delivering psychological Interventions for those with difficulties relating to complex trauma histories and those who are presenting with mental health crisis (such as Structured Clinical Management, PIT, EMDR, DBT)
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified key worker and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan and under supervision from senior clinical staff.
- Evidence of experience of managing cases & caseloads
- Evidence of supervising staff.
- Ability to work autonomously across the organisation/boundaries and with other agencies
- Experience of working in partnership with other agencies and service users and carers
- Experience of audit/research and working knowledge of clinical governance.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the concepts of mentorship, preceptorship and supervision and ability to provide education and supervision to junior staff
- Demonstrate a good knowledge of professional Codes of Conduct and Staffs' responsibility to identify gaps in their knowledge base.
- Expertise in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
- Well developed and effective communication skills, oral and written, to communicate complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non- professional groups.
- Good well-developed knowledge of research methodology and design.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
- Knowledge of IT systems including word processing, email and local electronic patient information systems
- Experience of delivering teaching/training in the area of consultation/formulation
- Appreciate the process of standard setting and audit
- Experience of working within mental health urgent care settings.
- Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of complex multi- media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings.
- Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of service governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.
- Ability to self-reflect, use clinical supervision appropriately and consider complex organisational and team dynamics

Job summary
We are welcoming applications for the post of Advanced Psychological Practitioner, working in Mersey Care's Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT).
The post-holder will be an experienced psychological practitioner/psychological therapist with a recognised qualification in an area of psychological practice/therapy.
