Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic, flexible, and multi-skilled Administrator to join the Tiverton Adult Community Mental Health Team. You will manage the administration team, providing leadership, recruitment, and high-quality administrative support to clinical teams. Responsibilities include developing and improving processes, arranging and minuting meetings, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The successful candidate will have excellent IT, organisational, and time management skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the administration team within the Tiverton Community Mental Health Team, acting as a role model.
  • Be responsible for line management, recruitment, and ensuring high-quality administrative support for clinical teams.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Team Manager to develop, maintain, and improve administrative processes and systems.
  • Arrange, chair, and minute regular administrative meetings.
  • Ensure all records are up to date on appropriate staffing and patient systems and maintain administrative process standards.
  • Maintain communication links with all staff to develop team morale and motivation through effective personal leadership.

Essential criteria

  • Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • GCSE English or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience of managing administration staff
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and complex information
  • Ability to take accurate formal and informal minutes
  • Able to plan, organise, prioritise, coordinate and work flexibly
  • Able to deal with difficult situations
  • Ability to work without direct supervision on a day to day basis
  • Attention to detail/quality
  • Ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to manage diverse workload whilst dealing with frequent interruptions

Desirable criteria

  • ICDL (International Computer Driving License), or equivalent experience
  • Previous NHS experience of working in a Healthcare or Social Care administrative setting

Job summary

The Tiverton Adult Community Mental Health Team is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and multi-skilled Administrator to join its busy administration team. The role is 34 hours per week and based within Tiverton Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The role includes management of the administration team within the Tiverton Community Mental Health Team. As a role model, you will inspire and motivate the team, fostering a positive and challenging environment where staff are valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will be responsible for line management, recruitment, and ensuring high-quality administrative support for our clinical teams.

You will work closely with the Clinical Team Manager to ensure high quality administrative support. Developing, maintaining and improving processes and systems which provide the clinical team with effective, efficient methods to enable them to use time effectively.

You will be responsible for arranging, chairing and minute taking regular administrative meetings.
