Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse - Mental Health / Learning Disability
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development that supports clinical practice
- Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments, recovery principles and person centred care Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
- Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill health.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team structure
- Experience of assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care needs
- Developed clinical nursing skills with a clear ability to understand new concepts and ideas in clinical practice
- Can provide evidence of recent continued professional development within the scope of nursing

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Learning Disabilities) the post holder will be a Registered Nurse (RN) working in an inpatient mental health setting as part of the multidisciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties including the assessment, formulation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of nursing care that is evidence-based, person centered and recovery focused. With the support of the Ward Manager and their deputies the post holder will lead and contribute to the smooth running of the unit in a consistent way that reflects the Trusts' values
