Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced research nurse to join the Barts BioResource as a Band 6 Research Nurse. You will lead day-to-day BioResource activity in clinical areas, providing advanced expertise in screening, informed consent, sample handling and research governance. You will support the training and supervision of BBR nurses and technicians, troubleshoot operational issues and help optimise recruitment workflows. The role ensures high standards of documentation, data integrity and participant safety while contributing to nationally significant research studies.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- GCP training
- Evidence of post-registration development.
Desirable criteria
- Teaching/mentorship qualification
- Research-related training
- Significant clinical experience.
- Experience delivering research or complex clinical processe
- Demonstrate experience obtaining informed consent for research
- Experience leading meetings or small teams
- Experience in Cardiology, Musculoskeletal, Cancer or Newborn and Maternity
- Understanding of GDPR, HTA, HRA and research governance
- Experience training or supervising others
- Experience contributing to audits or quality improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail
- Strong organisational and problem-solving sk
- Competent in phlebotomy, cannulation and sample handling.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with research databases, electronic logging systems and monitoring preparation.
