Role summary
This Health Visitor role within the CYP 0-19 Public Health Service supports the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme for children aged 0-5 and their families. The post holder will promote health and wellbeing, provide specialist advice, and develop care programmes. They will work in partnership with various agencies to meet public health agendas and provide supervision and leadership within the team. Two part-time positions are available in Bournemouth.
Essential criteria
- Registered Specialist Community Public Health Practitioner School Nursing degree/diploma level
- Membership of the relevant Professional Body
- Evidence of recent professional development in an up to date portfolio
- JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
- Recent previous experience within a comparable role
- Experience of developing specialist programmes of care for an individual or groups of patients/clients and of providing highly specialist advice
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively
- MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Experience of providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff
- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/RESOURCES
- Experience of using electronic patient / service user record systems
- PERSONAL QUALITIES/ATTRIBUTES
- Evidence of demonstrating the Trust's values and behaviours.
- Able to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation and with staff, patient/service users, visitors or external organisations both verbally and in writing in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information which may require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills
- Demonstrable ability to analyse situations and provide a resolution
- Demonstrable leadership qualities and the ability to perform as a role model
- BUSINESS TRAVEL
- Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.
- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively.

As a Health Visitor, you will work within the CYP 0-19 Public Health Service to support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. You will work in partnership with children, young people and families, the Local Authority, Early Intervention Services, Early Years Providers, Schools and Education Establishments, voluntary and community sector agencies and other Health Care providers. **** You will be required to work closely with other members of the CYP 0-19 Public Health Service to provide services in response to identified needs, including safeguarding and supporting children, young people and families
We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitors to join our forward-thinking Bournemouth Central and Bournemouth South teams - these are year-round posts of 30 and 32 hours per week respectively. The posts are based at Seascape, Southbourne, Bournemouth
