Role summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Support Worker to join the theatres team. The role involves assisting the surgical team in providing quality and safe patient care, including preparation of equipment and maintaining a clean environment. The post holder will also be responsible for stock levels and participating in weekend and on-call duties. There is an expectation to complete a Care Certificate qualification in Perioperative care.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting the surgical team to provide a quality service.
- Assisting the surgical team to deliver safe patient care.
- Supporting the surgical team in the preparation of sterile and non- sterile equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy environment throughout theatres.
- Maintaining a good stock levels.
- Works as part of the team to maintain good working relationships.
Essential criteria
- Level 1 Maths and English via BKSB or GCSE A-C (4-9) or Level 2 Functional skills Maths and English
- pleasant personality / willingness to learn and reliabililty
Desirable criteria
- Care Certificate (NHS)
- L3 Health and Social care or A Level Certificat
- previous health care experience in hospital setting

- Is able to work under supervision.
- Able to provide and receive routine information.

- Able to make sure infection control standards are maintained by all members of the MDT
