Role summary

This role involves being the first point of contact for patients in an outpatient setting. You will handle telephone enquiries, greet patients at reception, and manage appointments. The position requires a highly organised and friendly individual passionate about delivering excellent patient care. It is a varied and vital role within a dynamic Booking and Reception Team.

Essential criteria

  • Good educational standard of at least 2 GCSE's, in Maths, English or Equivalent
  • Knowlwdge and Experience
  • Good understanding of EPR, e-RS and PAS
  • Understanding of the 18-week RTT legislation
  • Experience working in a customer/patient focused environment

In this varied and vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential clerical and administrative support. From handling telephone enquiries and greeting patients at reception, to booking and managing appointments, you'll play a key part in ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience.

Main duties of the job

Welcome patients to the outpatient areas.

Check information with the patient and ensure all information entered onto computer systems is accurate and up-to-date.

Working in the call centre, speaking to patients about appointments, changing, moving and cancelling where required.

Ensure messages, whether in person, by telephone or email, are passed on to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
