Role summary
This Rotational Midwife position involves working within NMC codes of practice and professional guidelines, providing effective clinical leadership, and advocating for women's informed choices. Key responsibilities
- Work within NMC codes of practice and professional guidelines.
- Provide high quality, evidence-based midwifery care to women and their families throughout the maternity pathway.
- Recognise deviations from normality and escalate appropriately.
- Recognise and identify adult and Child safeguarding issues and take appropriate action.
- Work as a supportive team member to develop an environment that encourages effective team working.
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse and/or midwife
- Evidence of a high standard and knowledge of evidence based midwifery care acquired through CPD and experience.
- NMC UK Pin
- Evidence of experience in working in high risk care
- Knowledge and ability to deal appropriately with obstetric emergencies
- Ability to cope with complex obstetric and medical situations.
- Able to communicate effectively when dealing with complaints and refer to appropriate senior staff.
Desirable criteria
- NIPE trained
- Transitional care experience
- Enhanced maternity care experience
- Knowledge of Child Protection policy and legislation in practice
- Good communication skills when imparting knowledge to groups of colleagues and students.
