Role summary

This role involves managing the patient booking process for the elective waiting list, including entering and re-arranging surgery dates on the EPR system. You will also be responsible for arranging pre-operative assessment appointments and providing administrative support to the pre-operative assessment team. The post holder will deal with patient calls regarding admissions and may deputise for the Gynaecology Inpatient Waiting List Manager during busy periods. This position requires working unsupervised and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the booking process for patients on the elective waiting list is followed within agreed timeframes.
  • Enter agreed surgery dates onto the EPR system, including cancelling and re-arranging dates.
  • Arrange and book Pre-Operative assessment appointments.
  • Provide an efficient, polite and compassionate service to patients and service users.
  • Deal with all calls to the admissions office regarding admission dates.
  • Provide administrative support to Pre-Operative assessment and deputise for the Gynaecology Inpatient Waiting List Manager.
