Role summary
This role is for a Specialist Occupational Therapist within a multidisciplinary team at Dorothy House Hospice. You will provide specialist occupational therapy support for patients with complex palliative care needs, working across hospice and community services. The position involves assessments, goal-focused interventions, and practical support to help patients maximize independence and improve quality of life. You will champion a holistic rehabilitative approach and contribute to service development.
Essential criteria
- * Degree qualification in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- * A demonstrable interest in palliative care and understanding of rehabilitative palliative care
- * Post-graduate experience working with relevant client groups
- * Experience assessing complex physical conditions, setting goals and developing treatment plans
- * Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner
- * Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- * Demonstrates an extended scope of practice or shows willingness to develop through further training

- * Experience supervising staff, students or volunteers
- * Experience delivering education and training
- * Experience working with community partners and external organisations
