Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant to join the Discharge to Assess unit at Elmhurst in Winsford. The role involves supporting therapists in delivering high-quality therapy interventions to patients within a 30-bedded multidisciplinary unit. You will manage a defined patient workload, independently assess and formulate rehabilitation plans, and contribute to a comprehensive rehabilitation service under the guidance of qualified staff. The position requires a car driver with access to their own vehicle and an Assistant Practitioner qualification.
Essential criteria
- Assistant practitioner qualification
- Currently working towards the assistant practitioner course
- Willing to undertake assistant practitioner course
Desirable criteria
- Maths and English grade C or above/ or equivalent
- Skills and experience
- Community patient facing band 3 or 4 role
- Other patient facing band 3/4 role
- Have transferable skills and band 3 therapy assistant experience
- Experience with equipment supply.
- Experience with minor adaptations
- Knowledge of the role of a generic therapy assistant
- Knowledge of the role of an Occupational therapist and physiotherapist
- Knowledge of common conditions
- Knowledge of community working process
- Knowledge of voluntary and third sector services
- Assistant practitioner qualification

Job summary
An exciting post is now available for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant at Elmhurst- Discharge to Assess unit based in Winsford to work in a multidisciplinary bed based unit and support therapists in delivering high quality therapy interventions to patients.
Elmhurst is a 30 bedded unit providing round the clock nursing support to adult patients who are in transition from hospital to community.
This role offers the opportunity to enhance skills within a Discharge to Assess setting, linking in with the wider support network and being part of a integrated support system. You will work within Elmhurst to support patients rehabilitation and therapy needs.
It is expected that the location of this post will be within Elmhurst but with an assumption of supporting our colleagues across the CCICP footprint when needed.
The successful candidate will have Assistant Practitioner qualification (ST0215 Healthcare Assistant Practitioner Level 5)or equivalent.
