Role summary
This role is for a motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist specializing in moving and handling for adults in North Devon. You will conduct person-centered assessments and interventions, managing your own caseload autonomously within social care and health legislation. The position involves working with a diverse range of disabilities and health conditions, promoting independence through specialist equipment and tailored care packages. You will collaborate with NHS colleagues, social care teams, and other partners in a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out specialist moving and handling assessments and reviews in both community and hospital settings.
- Develop and implement effective, person centered solutions that promote independence, including specialist equipment and tailored care packages.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including highly complex cases, in line with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, demonstrating strong problem solving, clinical reasoning, and independent decision making skills.
- Explore innovative, collaborative ways of working across general practice, acute and community health, social care, and voluntary and private sector partners.
Essential criteria

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
