Role summary
This is a fixed-term Specialist Paediatric Dietitian role until December 2026, based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. Key responsibilities
- Work as an autonomous practitioner providing dietetic assessment, treatment, and management to a designated caseload.
- Use evidence-based principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate dietetic interventions.
- Act as a source of expertise and provide nutrition and dietetic services to the Paediatric caseload.
- Work as an enthusiastic and effective team member, communicating appropriately with patients, carers, and the MDT.
- Be responsible for supervising, educating, and assessing students and supporting junior staff development.
- Undertake evidence-based projects, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to service development.
Essential criteria
- BSc (Hons) or postgraduate equivalent in Dietetics
- HCPC
- Experience or interest in Paediatrics/Diabetes
- Previous experience of working in an Acute Trust as a dietitian
Desirable criteria
- Member of BDA
- Member of BDA Paediatric/Diabetes Specialist Group
- Evidence of Multi Professional Team Working
- Demonstable post graduate experience
- Evidence of relevant CPD
- Experience working in diabetes as a dietitian
- Experience working in paediatrics as a dietitian

We have a vacancy whereby we are recruiting for an experienced Paediatric dietitian to join us as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian for fixed term cover until31.12.2026 .
This post will allow an experienced paediatric dietitian, or an experienced dietitian who would like a change, and to work with children, to develop expertise within paediatrics and advanced clinical skills across a broad range of paediatric conditions and settings.
This role gives you the chance to work in general paediatrics and also Paediatric Diabetes, within established multidisciplinary teams providing expert nutritional advice to professionals, patients and carers. It will be based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and will cover both inpatients and outpatients.
