Role summary
This is a part-time Band 7 Specialist Dietitian role in Critical Care at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide highly specialist, evidence-based dietetic services to adult intensive care units, working as an integral member of the dietetic and multidisciplinary teams. The role involves assessing nutritional status, providing hands-on care, participating in audits and research, and educating other healthcare professionals on nutritional management in critical care. Essential criteria
- Recognised Nutrition & Dietetic Degree or equivalent
- Registered with Health Care Professions Council as a Dietitian
- Evidence of successful completion of significant specialist post graduate training equivalent to Masters level in this clinical area; for example PENG
Desirable criteria
- Member of a relevant Specialist Interest Group
- Evidence of a high level of specialist dietetic knowledge/skills in this clinical area as a result of experience/CPD
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of artificial nutrition support, both enteral and parenteral
- Evidence of leadership experience
- Evidence of research/audit, project work & service development
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the principles of clinical governance
- Experience of development, planning, delivery and evaluation of education and training programmes
- Experience of student training and clinical supervision of peers
- Ability to work flexibly and prioritise clinical and non clinical work to meet the needs of the service in conjunction with other members of the team
- Other Relevant Factors
- Able to easily and efficiently travel to clinical sites and training venues across the county, to provide a dietetics service and to support staff/colleagues

Job summary
This part time Band 7 ICU role is an exciting opportunity to join one of the best teaching hospitals in the UK and offers the successful candidates the opportunity to gain valuable training so that they can not only advance their careers but join a team that offers the very best in nutritional care.
This post will have a job plan that covers ICU units across OUH. You will be working within the ICU team which covers not only a brand new, bespoke critical care unit which is a tertiary referral centre for critical care, regional vascular and major trauma, and supports one of the largest transplant departments in Europe, but also two specialist ICU's: Neuro ICU and Cardio Thoracic ICU. There may also be some cover to the Surgical Emergency Unit.
You will work alongside a team of experienced Band 7 Dietitians with support from Band 6 Dietitians and undertake supervision of B5 rotational Dietitians and students. You will be supported by the Critical Care MDT who highly respect and value dietitians.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the development and provision of a highly specialist, evidence based dietetic service to the patients treated within the adult intensive care units.
