Role summary
This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients requiring plaster casts, working autonomously within the plaster room and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities

Essential criteria
- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust shared commitments
- Registered holder of the British Casting Certificate (BCC) (formerly BOA(SON)/AOT qualification) or equivalent
- Demonstrates continuing professional development and recertification of BCC
- Significant recent experience working as a plaster technician in an acute environment
- Experienced in the application of a range of plaster casts
- Demonstrable experience of caring for patients
- Experienced in participation in audits and data collection
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled in use of computer /key board
- Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and development in orthopaedic care and health education
- Ability to work under pressure

Job summary
The post holder will be involved in all aspects of care of patients in plaster and will apply andremove a wide range of plaster casts without direct supervision. Working as a core memberof the multi-disciplinary team, care will be given to outpatients and inpatients.
