Role summary
This role involves overseeing team performance, ensuring supervision, appraisal, and training are in place. The manager will be responsible for implementing quality initiatives, evaluating services, and conducting clinical audits. Key responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership for high-quality dementia and older adult care, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage and make best use of all resources.
- Provide effective professional leadership to the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide nursing clinical input, leading health promotional activities, education, and training.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse - Mental Health
- Experience and evidence of working with older people with mental health problems
- Demonstrable experience of ability to undertake the role
- Experience of Service Development & Team Governance
- Experience in working in partnership with others.
- Experience in working within MDT/multi professional
- Experience of working directly with people with Organic illnesses and their carers
- Knowledge & understanding of mental health issues specifically dementia
- Self Awareness
- Risk Management
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of and developing skills in implementing and evaluating Policies, Protocols and Procedures
- Maintain and develop an environment and culture that improves health, safety and security
- Ability to act as an education resource
- Ability to prioritise own workload and designated others

Desirable criteria
- Relevant post graduate qualification
- Management degree or equivalent
- Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health & Social Care Level 5 or equivalent ( or willing to work towards)
- Experience of managing a multi disciplinary staff team
- Participation in a Manager Development Programme
- Implementation of change management
- Conducting staff disciplinary
- Experience and evident application of budgetary management
- Management of staff through capability
- Experience of co-ordination of support service provision i.e. catering, cleansing, laundry
