Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to join the oncology team as a specialist for metastatic gynae and urological cancers. The role involves working closely with clinical nurse specialist teams, oncology consultants, and wider teams in the Sunrise centre. You will assess, manage, and treat patients, ensuring seamless holistic care for those receiving anti-cancer therapy. The position is part-time, 30 hours per week, with specific days allocated to Gynae and Urology teams.
Essential criteria
- NMC registration
- Holds, or working towards, a BSc (Hons) Health
Desirable criteria
- Post registration qualification in oncology, palliative care and/or chemotherapy
- University qualification in specialty
- Non-medical prescribing qualification or commitment to undertake
- Teaching/assessment/ mentoring qualification
- Good level of post registration experience
- Audit or research experience
- Teaching and education experience
- Recent post registration nursing experience with patients with cancer
- Practical & Intellectual Skill
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Able to organise own learning and development
- Understanding of the possible emotional impact of metastatic disease
- Training
- Evidence of continuing professional development

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has launched a significant investment in its Cancer Services workforce over the last few years. The additional staff will ensure the service is fit for purpose to provide ongoing excellent care and the roll-out of new technologies and service.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to work within the oncology team as a nurse specialist for metastatic gynae and urological cancers. You will be working closely with the clinical nurse specialist nursing teams, oncology consultants and the wider teams in the Sunrise centre.
This role plays a pivotal part within this service, including meeting the needs of metastatic gynae and urological cancer patients receiving anti-cancer therapy and providing seamless holistic care.
This is a part time permanent position 30 hours per week . Monday, Tuesdays and Thursday with the Gynae team and Fridays with Urology.
