Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 Paediatric Nurse to join our team on Lion Ward, part of The Children's Surgical Ward here at Kings College Hospital.
You must be a Registered Children's Nurse with excellent clinical skills, be self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed to providing high standards of care for all our paediatric patients, their families and carers.
Care and compassion in managing our paediatric patients and families is important to us. Therefore, we expect successful candidates to demonstrate these qualities on a daily basis, and have the resilience to meet the challenges of our busy and stimulating work environment.
Lion Ward is a 10 bedded fast paced, paediatric Neuro-Surgical ward, caring for children and young people with varying neuro-surgical conditions, including those with brain tumours, spinal cord defects and hydrocephalus requiring shunt insertions or External Ventricular Drains. As a major trauma centre, we also receive trauma patients such as those with traumatic brain injuries.
Within these 10 beds, Lion Ward also has 2 beds allocated for Neuro Rehabilitation. This provides an excellent opportunity to work with the wider MDT. We also offer Telemetry on the ward.
