Role summary

This role is for an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, specialised microbiological analysis and surveillance to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include the day-to-day running of key laboratory sections and defined sample benches, as well as rotating through all areas of the Microbiology laboratory to support a 24/7 service.

  • Knowledge of laboratory computer systems or equivalent

  • Ability to use, control and maintain analytical equipment
  • Ability to train and organise less qualified/experienced staff
  • Highly developed physical skills to include the use of microscopes, pipettes, balances
