Role summary

This role requires an enthusiastic Inventory Officer to manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the Royal Victoria Infirmary and/or Freeman Hospital. The post holder will ensure efficient stock management, maintain safe working practices, and support clinical teams in optimising stores management. It involves frequent manual handling and use of stock management systems, requiring both independent work and team collaboration.

Job summary

Enthusiastic person is required to provide a well-managed, efficient, secure, safe, accurate and timely service for the ordering, receipt, storage and distribution of goods within the Royal Victoria Infirmary and/or Freeman Hospital.

The ability to work on your own, as well as part of a wider team, is essential. This role requires frequent manual handling tasks and the use of email, telephone and stock management systems.

Ensure that stock is received in accordance with policy and is rotated to minimise wastage. Adopt a flexible approach to any stores activity undertaken. Day to day problem solving is required for this role. Analysis, review of working practices, direct liaison with clinical teams to support improvement work for both financial and efficiency savings.
