Role summary
This is an exciting dual-role position for an experienced Band 7 Midwife within the Maternity Birth Centre. The post holder will provide senior clinical leadership, coordinate care and patient flow, and manage the Birth Centre and staffing. The role involves supporting women and birthing people, ensuring timely assessment and multidisciplinary management. It requires an effective team leader who can support colleagues, manage complex workloads, and contribute to service improvement and a positive team culture.
Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Midwife with at least 3 years experience.
- NIPE trained or currently taking the course for QBC/PNW/ANW posts. Willingness to undertake NIPE training for Triage post within 12 months
- Prescriber or Willingness to undertake and complete prescribing course within 2 years
Desirable criteria
- MSc in relevant subject (evidence of working towards i.e. already on pathway)
- HDU High Risk Care delivery course attended and willingness to undertake
- Previous experience as a band 6/7 Midwife with experience of being in charge/coordinating of shifts
