Role summary
This role involves running pre-operative investigation clinics, performing various clinical tasks such as observations, blood tests, ECGs, and MRSA screening. The Heath Care Assistant will also assist with ordering non-stock items. This position is part-time and permanent within The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Key responsibilities
- Run own clinic to obtain pre-operative investigations.
- Perform observations, bloods, ECG, MSU, height/weight, and MRSA screening.
- Assist in ordering of non-stock items.
Essential criteria
- Completed Care Certificate or equivalent experience.
- Bedside Emergency Assessment Course for HCA's (BEACH) or willingness to undertake.
- Awareness of risks, identifying them and alerting appropriate personnel
Desirable criteria
- Level 2 or 3 Health Care qualification/apprenticeship, or completion of Band 3 Excellence in Care Competencies for existing Band 2 substantive HCSW
- Experience of taking clinical observations
- Competently perform a range if the core skills relevant to the area of speciality.
