Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic Clinical Support Officer, primarily supporting Consultants and working with management, doctors, and PSH teams. Key duties include managing Consultant diaries, clinic typing, and patient pathways using the Patient Administration System (PAS)/Medway. The position requires someone who thrives in an office environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is dedicated to providing excellent patient care. Both full-time and part-time hours are available at Lincoln County Hospital.
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of 18 week RTT pathway.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of PAS/CareFlow
- GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent qualification/ experience
- NVQ Level 3 in relative subject, i.e. Customer Care skills or Administration (or equivalent qualification or experience) .
- IT proficiency evidenced by a qualification or knowledge in Microsoft packages, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- 4 GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
- AMSPAR - Medical Terminology Certificate.
- Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload to achieve deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and work in a team.
- Competent Microsoft Word User.
- Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda.
- Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework:
- Validation of 18 week RTT pathway

Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to work as a newly appointed Clinical Support Officer, primarily looking after Consultants, whilst working closely with management, doctors, and PSH teams.
Both full time and part time hours will be considered. To be worked over Monday to Friday with hours ranging from 8am-5pm to be considered. Full and part time positions available at Lincoln County Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Support Officers play a pivotal role to ensure an accurate and comprehensive service by maintaining their Consultant's diary, clinic typing, managing patients through their clinical pathways, updating the Patient Administration System (PAS)/Medway system for which you would receive training. You will be willing to support other specialties within the Business Units when shortfalls in capacity arise and depending on the Business Unit priorities.
We are looking for candidates who flourish in an office environment and thrive from problem solving and supporting the Clinicians. A genuine interest in providing excellent patient care is a must. Experience of working in an office environment would be advantageous and we would welcome any candidates who are looking to get their start within the NHS.
