Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated registered mental health nurse to join the Older Adult Home Treatment Team. Essential criteria

  • Experience of working with Older Adults in a mental health setting
  • Experience of assessment and care planning
  • Experience of multi disciplinary working
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification.
  • Evidence of current or pending post qualification NMC registration.
  • Good risk assessment and risk management skills including the use of assessment tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the mental health needs of older people.

  • Demonstration of commitment to on-going personal & professional development

Location: SHSC 7 Edmund Road, Sheffield, S2

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered mental health nurse to join our Older Adult Home Treatment Team.

The Older Adult Home Treatment Team provides a service 8-8pm, 365 days a year to older adults experiencing a crisis in the context of functional mental health or dementia. We work intensively with service users in a community setting to prevent admission to a mental health ward, support discharge from a mental health ward and provide comprehensive assessment and treatment plans in the person's own home.

You should be able to demonstrate your passion towards working with this client group and have the ability to assess, co-ordinate treatment and support clients and carers. You should possess effective communication skills and have the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a wider Multidisciplinary team.
