Role summary
This role is for a Health & Justice Support Time Recovery Worker within the Liaison & Diversion Team, based in Worcestershire. The service identifies individuals with vulnerabilities in the criminal justice system, offering referrals and signposting to address unmet needs and divert them from offending. The post holder will work with people aged 10 upwards, providing brief community-based interventions and supporting engagement with appropriate services. Travel across the MPFT footprint is required.
Key responsibilities
- Work with service users and their carers to promote self-determination, choice, and autonomy.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with service users and relatives/carers.
- Participate in setting quality standards, auditing, monitoring, and reviewing practice.
- Assess patient's individual care needs, agree, and refer to appropriate agencies.
- Provide short-term intervention to encourage engagement with services and initial appointments.
- Complete and contribute to robust risk assessments and risk management plans.
Essential criteria
- Competent in literacy and numeracy.
- Basic knowledge of physical / mental condition and rehabilitation.
- Computer Literacy.
- Experience working with individuals with a complex range of health and social care needs.
- Experience and/or sound knowledge of the Criminal Justice System.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care or equivalent of.
- Training in Support/Mentoring.
- Adult/Child Safeguarding Training.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Liaison & Diversion Team for the role of Liaison & Diversion Support, Time, Recovery Worker based in Worcestershire Outreach/Reconnect
Health & Justice services identify people who have substance misuse, mental health, learning disability or other vulnerabilities when they come onto contact with the criminal justice system. We look to identify unmet need and vulnerabilities that often lead to or exacerbate offending behaviour, offer onward referral and signposting as appropriate. We liaise across agencies to support onward planning and intervention to address identified needs and where appropriate support the diversion of individuals away from the criminal justice process into a more appropriate setting.
We work in Police Custody Suites, Courts, Community & Prisons throughout West Mercia and offer assessments to individuals within the Criminal Justice system. We help to inform decision makers with relevant and timely information to support sentencing and disposal outcomes.
