Role summary
This role is for an experienced urgent or emergency care clinician to work as an Emergency Practitioner in an Urgent Treatment Centre. You will autonomously assess, diagnose, and treat patients with urgent presentations, acting as a senior clinical presence and decision-maker. Key responsibilities
- Provide advanced, autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in the Urgent Treatment Centre.
- Deliver high quality, patient centred care using enhanced clinical skills to manage a broad spectrum of conditions.
- Offer clinical leadership, supporting junior staff and contributing to service development and quality improvement.
- Act as an autonomous decision maker, exercising professional judgement in complex and unpredictable situations.
- Make complex clinical decisions and manage risk confidently, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
Essential criteria
- Current NMC / HCPC registration.
- History Taking and Physical Assessment in Clinical Practice Course or equivalent.
- Completion of Nurse / Paramedic Practitioner Course in minor injury and/or minor illness
- Practice Assessor / Practice Supervisor certificate (or equivalent)
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
Desirable criteria
- Degree level education or equivalent experience.
- Non-medical prescribing.
- MSc Advanced Clinical Practice.
- Evidence of Level 7 Study
- IRMER Trained, including Xray interpretation course
