Role summary
This role involves working as a Health & Justice Navigator primarily at Telford Magistrates Court, with flexibility to work across West Mercia. The post holder will screen individuals for health and social care needs, assist them in navigating services, and complete onward referrals. They will also prepare Court Reports outlining individual needs for charging and sentencing decisions, working in a trauma-informed way. Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards) or equivalent experience.
- The post holder will require additional vetting by partner agencies; this includes Police Vetting and / or Prison Clearance.
Desirable criteria
- Training in Supporting / Mentoring / coaching.
- Experience of working with a range of vulnerabilities which may include mental health, physical health, learning disabilities, abuse, addiction and social issues.
- Experience of working with a range of statutory, non-statutory agencies.
- Experience and/or sound knowledge of the Criminal Justice System.
- Experience of working in a community based setting.
- Experience of implementing personalised care plans or rehabilitation plans.

The post holder will be recruited as a Health & Justice Navigator primarily based at Telford Magistrates Court, with the flexibility and ability of working across West Mercia, in particular Kidderminster Magistrates Court, dependent on skill and service need.
