Role summary
BHRUT is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Band 7 Senior Midwife to join their team as a Labour Ward Coordinator. The role involves developing leadership skills and contributing to the maternity service by supporting staff and improving care. The successful candidate will be an NMC registered midwife dedicated to women-centered, evidence-based practice.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure midwifery practice is evidence-based and women-centered.
- Provide expert midwifery advice and guidance to the multidisciplinary team.
- Set, monitor and maintain high standards of Midwifery care within the ward environment.
- Maintain personal contact with women, relatives and carers, being sensitive to their needs.
- Communicate and work with the inter-professional team to promote comprehensive, high-quality women care.
- Participate in Midwifery and multi-professional research/audit and promoting research based clinical practice.
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- Substantial post registration experience - including working at Band 6 and above
- Experience of leading shifts/core/teams
Desirable criteria
- MSc in relevant subject (evidence of working towards i.e. already on pathway)
- Post-graduate management/leadership qualification and / or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience
- NIPE/NALS
