Role summary
This is a development post for an Occupational Therapist Band 6 within a dynamic and friendly Stroke team. The role involves delivering high-quality care across the Stroke pathway, rotating between acute hospital care and a new specialised Stroke Rehabilitation Unit. It is suitable for an established Band 6 or an experienced Band 5 seeking career progression. The post holder will contribute to seven-day service delivery and will be responsible for rapid response, advanced assessment, and treatment of complex cases.
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Knowledge and Training
- Evidence of post graduate training in specialist clinical area
- Have an understanding of developments within the NHS and the Trust, and their implication on Occupational Therapy
- Clinical experience at band 5 in core areas of respiratory, neurology and orthopaedics
- Communication & Relationship Skills
- Able to delegate appropriately
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally, in a good clear and logical manner including good standard of documentation in application
- Analytical & Judgement Skills
- Demonstrate understanding of the governance framework and relevance to clinical practice
- Able to work as an autonomous practitioner in a defined clinical area and support others
- Planning & Organisational Skills
- Evidence of leadership skills
- Demonstrates evidence of effective self-management including time, prioritisation, clinical caseload and demanding situations
- Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Trust Values
- Values and behaviours that reflect the Trust values of Care, Respect and Responsibility
