Role summary

This is a development post for an Occupational Therapist Band 6 within a dynamic and friendly Stroke team. The role involves delivering high-quality care across the Stroke pathway, rotating between acute hospital care and a new specialised Stroke Rehabilitation Unit. It is suitable for an established Band 6 or an experienced Band 5 seeking career progression. The post holder will contribute to seven-day service delivery and will be responsible for rapid response, advanced assessment, and treatment of complex cases.

Essential criteria

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Knowledge and Training
  • Evidence of post graduate training in specialist clinical area
  • Have an understanding of developments within the NHS and the Trust, and their implication on Occupational Therapy
  • Clinical experience at band 5 in core areas of respiratory, neurology and orthopaedics
  • Communication & Relationship Skills
  • Able to delegate appropriately
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally, in a good clear and logical manner including good standard of documentation in application
  • Analytical & Judgement Skills
  • Demonstrate understanding of the governance framework and relevance to clinical practice
  • Able to work as an autonomous practitioner in a defined clinical area and support others
  • Planning & Organisational Skills
  • Evidence of leadership skills
