Role summary
This role is for a qualified RMN/RNLD or Social Worker to join the Section 117 case management team. The Complex Case Manager will deliver effective case management, assessment, and reviews for individuals eligible for Section 117 funding, particularly those with learning disabilities and/or Autism. The post holder will work independently, liaising with multidisciplinary professionals, service users, and carers to ensure appropriate and safe care. This position supports vulnerable adults in the locality, offering opportunities for growth and development.
Key responsibilities
- Review and case manage patients subject to Section 117 aftercare (Mental Health Act 1983) and those with learning disabilities and/or Autism.
- Ensure all placements provide appropriate, good quality services and are value for money.
- Liaise with the Legal team regarding DoLs/CoP enquiries.
- Re-assess new patient placements within the initial 12 weeks to provide highly specialised advice and ensure suitability.
- Manage complex, sensitive, and contentious service user information, including interactions with legal representatives and independent provider clinical teams.
- Attend service users clinical/multiagency reviews and Mental Health Review Tribunals (MHRT) when required.
Essential criteria
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1983) Mental Capacity Act (2005)
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience of working across organisation and external boundaries
- Knowledge and awareness of the adult and children's safeguarding agenda
- Experience of providing care to service users with complex needs
- Sound financial awareness
- Keyboard Skills
- Ability to travel as required by the role
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level. Evidence of relevant registration
- Professional qualification in Nursing(RNMH/RNLD) or Social Worker
- Relevant postgraduate qualification
- Able to demonstrate understanding of MHA section 117/MCA, capacity and consent
- Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding agenda and processes
- Demonstrable relevant Nursing/Social work experience at band 5 or higher
- Previous experience of nursing relevant care groups & associated needs

Humber and North Yorkshire ICB for a qualified RMN/RNLD , or Social Worker, to
join the Section 117 case management team covering Hull, East riding and North Lincolnshire
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and
innovative Band 6 Complex Case Manager to work as part of the team, delivering
effective case management, assessment and reviews across the geography for
persons who may be eligible for Section 117 funding.
The post holder will review and case manage
patients that are subject to Section 117 aftercare (Mental Health Act 1983)
commissioning and people with learning disabilities and/or Autism ensuring that
the services commissioned are appropriate and safe to manage service user care.
The successful candidate will be joining a
newly formed integrated team of clinicians, social workers and administrative
staff.
The post holder will work independently and
meet with the multidisciplinary professionals, service users and carers within
the service and ensure clear understanding of case management and programme of
care needs on a continuous basis, discuss potential transfers to alternative
placements with service users when necessary. This includes people living in
