Role summary

This role involves developing and embedding a Quality Management System for two Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) in Southeast London. Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate, co-ordinate and maintain an effective quality management system (QMS) within Community Diagnostic Centres consistent with QSI and UKAS standards.
  • Support and train staff, and be accountable for all aspects of service quality.
  • Manage information from patient experience surveys and complaints, facilitating action plans.
  • Lead in the development of plans for service improvement arising from audits and patient surveys.
  • Line manage the CDC Quality Officer, including appraisals and personal development reviews.
  • Establish and maintain processes to control documents and data related to QSI, UKAS, and IR(ME)R guidelines.

Essential criteria

  • Masters Degree or PgDip level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing education and development
  • Recognised quality management qualification / experience
  • Moderate relevant experience including; ? Working with quality systems ? protocol / policy development and implementation ? risk management ? training and education
  • Audit
  • Previous experience in improvement projects
  • Previous achievements in change management in the NHS
  • Experience of radiography
  • Experience with complaints process and handling
  • An understanding of the principles of quality management ISO 9001
  • An understanding of the IR(ME)R regulations
  • Knowledge of PC based applications including Office 365 applications
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise against tight deadlines.
  • Proactive self-starter.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Required to concentrate for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to act and communicate confidently in stressful situations occasionally

Main duties of the job

To facilitate, co-ordinate and maintain the delivery of an effective quality management system (QMS) within Community diagnostic centres that is consistent with the requirements of current Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) and UKAS standards.To promote quality improvement within CDCs across both CDC sites, whilst having the freedom to deliver on agreed objectives.To support and train staff and be accountable for all aspects of the quality of service delivered.The post holder will also help support the clinical governance programme, be responsible for relevant project management for e.g. QSI accreditation and be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly audit reports on relevant areas such as clinical incidents, serious investigations and complaints.
