Role summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to join a diverse healthcare team at HMP Bristol, delivering integrated primary care services to patients in a prison setting. The role involves providing high-quality clinical care, managing a complex caseload, and supporting junior colleagues. You will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of the healthcare team and providing clinical supervision. The team focuses on promoting health and well-being and supporting patient resettlement.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high quality primary care services and specialist interventions for patients.
- Deliver high quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison, demonstrating robust expert clinical skills and evidence-based practice.
- Carry out duties including reception screening, emergency response, long term conditions management, planned care, enhanced assessment, diagnostic intervention services, and health promotion activities.
- Hold a complex caseload and support more junior colleagues with help or advice.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the healthcare team and provide clinical supervision to junior team members.
Essential criteria
- Professional Qualification - NMC
- Post Graduate Qualification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years' experience at Band 5
- Working knowledge or clear interest in prison/offender healthcare
- Experience of multi-professional collaboration including working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations.
- Experience of multi-professional collaboration including working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations. Experience of setting, monitoring and evaluating standards of care.
- Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, presenting ideas with clarity in a persuasive and influential style.
- Ability to lead and empower people to make decisions and to plan ahead.
