Role summary

This role is for an experienced Clinical Coder to join a growing department within Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. The post holder will abstract, analyse, and accurately code clinical information from patient records using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications. The role requires producing consistent, accurate, and timely coded clinical data to meet demanding deadlines. A hybrid working pattern is offered, with remote and some onsite working expected.

  • Recent Refresher workshop
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Desirable criteria

  • Accredited Clinical Coding Auditor/Trainer qualification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical and physiological terms: acquired through work-based training.
  • Good knowledge and use of information / informatics systems used within the NHS.
  • oKnowledge of computer use, coding procedures & conventions
  • Recent Clinical coding experience in an Acute NHS Trust
  • Use of Patient Centre PAS
  • Use of supportive systems such as Telepath
