Role summary
This role is for an experienced Clinical Coder to join a growing department within Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. The post holder will abstract, analyse, and accurately code clinical information from patient records using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications. The role requires producing consistent, accurate, and timely coded clinical data to meet demanding deadlines. A hybrid working pattern is offered, with remote and some onsite working expected.

- Accredited Clinical Coder qualification
- Coding Standards Course
- Recent Refresher workshop
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Accredited Clinical Coding Auditor/Trainer qualification
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical and physiological terms: acquired through work-based training.
- Good knowledge and use of information / informatics systems used within the NHS.
- oKnowledge of computer use, coding procedures & conventions
- Recent Clinical coding experience in an Acute NHS Trust
- Use of Patient Centre PAS
- Use of supportive systems such as Telepath
- Supervisory/leading team experience
- Education and Training
