Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) School Nurse to join the Bromley 0-19 service. The role involves working with schools, families, and the wider community to improve the health of school-aged children, identifying vulnerable individuals, and developing clear referral pathways. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within Bromley schools, managing a defined caseload and supporting junior staff. Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse - Degree or Diploma
- Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Qualification in School Nursing (BSc or PgDip)
Desirable criteria
- Practice Assessor qualification
- Evidence of further professional learning relating to Children's public health nursing
- Professional Registration
- Current NMC registration
- Training
- Experience in delivering Asthma / Anaphylaxis / Basic Life Support training
- Child safeguarding Level 3 training
- Leadership course / qualification
- Specific Skills
- Ability to work with children of all ages
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a multi- agency setting
- Car driver with use of a car for work purposes - clean UK driving license.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced SCPHN school nurses to join the Bromley 0-19 service. We are looking for dynamic, confident and compassionate nurses to join the well-established team within the Bromley borough. The service is approaching a period of exciting change and innovation, and the post holder would have the opportunity to help influence and transform the service offer available to children, young people and their families.
The post-holder will be the named School Nurse for schools within the area. This role will incorporate a supervisory role for staff nurses working within the school nursing service.
The post holder will work as a member of the School Nursing Service and will work with schools, families, and the wider community to improve the health of school-aged children identifying the more vulnerable, and developing clear referral pathways so that all children and young people can reach their full potential.
