Role summary
This role is for an apprentice-trained, fully qualified Electrical Engineer/Electrician to support the safe and efficient running of the hospital estate. The post holder will carry out and oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation of complex electrical plant and equipment. It requires strong technical ability, independent working, and effective contribution within a multi-skilled team. Essential criteria
- City and Guilds along with relevant experience demonstrating knowledge at a level equivalent to HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Completion of a recognised trade / CITB / EITB Apprenticeship and experience in a similar technical discipline...Electrical NVQ level 3 + AM2
- 18th Edition Qualified
Desirable criteria
- Authorised person in High Voltage systems
- Washer Disinfector training to HTM
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Recognised apprenticeship
- Experience in complex Engineering Services maintenance with a demonstrable track record of competence.
- Previous experience in a large acute hospital
- Risk Assessments
- Lift release training
- Knowledge and Skills
- Specialist knowledge of technical developments in Estates maintenance
- Able to identify hazards and risks to self and others and work safely at all times and to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good understanding of complex electrical and mechanical drawings and computer data able to interpret and make decisions based on this data
- Knowledge and appreciation of Building Maintenance Issues
- Knowledge of NHS and working in clinical Areas
