Role summary
This role involves providing individualised stop smoking support to pregnant women, people, and their families within the maternity service. Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare OR equivalent experience
- Demonstrates commitment to undertake smoking cessation training as required
- Level 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

- Smoking Cessation Advisor Intermediate Level qualification
- Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience of working with members of the public
- Healthy lifestyle or Behavioural change experience
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Evidence of continuing personal development

- Experience of working with pregnant women
- Skills and Competencies

Job summary
We are looking to recruit 2 tobacco dependency advisors for our maternity stop smoking service.
The individuals appointed to this role will be able to motivate, inspire and support those for who Tobacco dependency impacts their health and wellbeing, and that of their unborn baby and wider family.
This role will work within all areas of our maternity service, and will be supporting those who are pregnant and smoking to set a quit date and stop smoking. The person appointed will be able to identify tobacco users and will use a range of interventions to support someone to quit smoking.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Tobacco Dependence Specialist Midwife and other team members in providing individualised stop smoking support to women, pregnant people, and families in a flexibleand innovative way.
This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.
