Role summary

This role is for a Senior Clinical Practitioner within the Waterview Service, a specialist Complex Emotional Needs (personality disorder) service. The successful candidate will join the established DBT pathway, undertaking assessments, facilitating DBT/MBT groups, and acting as Lead Professional for service users. Training in psychological interventions like DBT and MBT will be provided, and the role involves working with complex individuals and managing risk.

Essential criteria

  • Relevant core professional qualification and registration (e.g. Nursing, Occupational therapy, Social work, Psychology, Psychotherapy).
  • Training / knowledge of therapies relevant to Complex Emotional needs (Personality Disorder) , i.e. Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) and/Or Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and application to practice.

Desirable criteria

  • Substantial postgraduate training and/or qualifications to diploma level relevant to personality disorder or models of practice.
  • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Paid/unpaid relevant to job
  • Post (core profession) qualification experience in mental health including managing a caseload under Lead Professional Care
  • Experience of working therapeutically with people with Complex Emotional Needs.
  • Experience of conducting psychologically informed assessment and compiling reports.
  • Ability and experience in risk assessment and crisis management.
  • Experience of co-facilitating groups
  • Experience of working in a dedicated personality disorder service

The Waterview service is a dedicated specialist Complex Emotional Needs (personality disorder service), serving the boroughs of Kensington Chelsea and Westminster and is the only such service of its kind in the Trust. We deliver both long term Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to individuals with high severity and complexity - often with multiple co-morbid conditions and history of high service use.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our small team and in return you will receive specialist training in psychological interventions to enhance your work and your career.
